Reference books are usually encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, bibliographies, guides, atlases, etc. Although largely replaced by online sources, print sources offer information not always accessible electronically. They provide ready information, background treatment of complex subjects, and, with bibliographies, guides to other sources.
