Evolution and Revolution as Organizations Grow
If we accept the idea that an organization is an organism, then it is appropriate to look at the development, maturity, and decline of organizations. This session looks at the stages of organizational growth as presented in Larry Greiner's classic HBR article. Then, we will look at a model that identifies stages of decline. Finally, we will examine some of the characteristics of declining organizations.
