What type of box do you want to use?
Tabbed Box - Does your LibGuide have a lot of pages/subpages? Could that information be condensed into one tabbed box? Use a tabbed box to include multiple tabs of content in a single box - a great way to include a lot of content without taking up a lot of space. Tabbed boxes help reduce scrolling and make the LibGuide more user-friendly.
Tabbed Box Tips
Standard - This is the box format from version 1.0. It can contain any kind of content you want within this box.
Both Tabbed and Standard boxes can contain, not only Rich Text/HTML, but also:
Gallery Box - easily create a box of rotating images that you have uploaded to your Image Manager or that you have found online.
Profile Box - lets you add a user profile in your system to any page.
Note - Floating Box when checked, will give a streamlined look to the box. Floating boxes remove the title and border from the public interface, giving more white space around the content resulting in a composition that's easy on the eyes. On the admin-side, you'll still see the box title and borders.
1. After adding the Tabbed Box to the page, click the cog wheel icon in the box's header.
2. On the Add/Edit Tabs pane, give your tab a name and click CREATE NEW TAB.
3. Give your next tab a name and click CREATE NEW TAB again.
4. Add additional tabs or click OK.
5. Add content to the box using the add/reorder dropdown.
Currently, in version 2.0, the only way to convert the content in a standard box to a tabbed box is using "copy and paste." It is not possible to reuse the existing standard box as a tabbed box.
Follow the steps in "Setting up a Tabbed Box" tab to begin the process. Once you have your box set up with the tabs needed, copy and past from standard box to the corresponding tabbed box.
Use the pencil icon to edit the name
1. After adding the Gallery box to the page, click the cog wheel icon in the box's header.
2. On the Add/Edit Panes window for the Gallery Box, paste in an image's URL or click BROWSE to add an image from your Image Manager.
3. Give your image a label and a caption.
4. Click Create to add an additional pane or click OK to save your box.
5. Images should fill the entire box for the best look. Here are some image widths to keep in mind:
6. Note - the Gallery Box will automatically change its height based upon the current image, so it is also a good idea to have your images all be the same height.
