Friendly URLs
Every LibGuide should have a friendly URL AND each page on the LibGuide should have a friendly URL. You will use the page friendly URL whenever you link to a LibGuide page. Pages cannot be assigned friendly URLs without the LibGuide having one first.
The first step when you create your LibGuide should be to make the assigned LibGuide URL a friendly one that reflects the name of the guide. This allows anyone receiving the URL to know what it points to. Look at the "unfriendly URLs" example below. The URLs circled do not have a friendly URL. They are a mishmash of gobblygook and needs to be made friendly. Use the pencil icon to the right of the URL to change the URL name. This guide is LibGuide Migration V2 and that is what it will be renamed to. Note - spaces are not allowed so use the underscore if you want to separate your words.
Now that you have renamed your Guide URL, you can repeat the process to make the page have a friendly URL. This page in my guide is called Friendly URLs for LibGuide V2 and it will be renamed friendly_url.
