LibGuide Migration to V.2

This LibGuide contains all of the instructions that guide owners need to follow in order to make their LibGuides compatible post-migration.

Login Information for the v.2 LibGuides beta site

1. Go to this link:  http://udallas.beta.libguides.com This is our beta public page that the public can't see yet. You will need to log in to edit. 
 
2. Either use the drop down LibGuide from the gold dashboard at the top and select LibApps or scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on "Log into LibApps" 
 
3. On the login page, you'll probably need to reset your password (you can use your existing LibGuides password). Your existing LibGuides email should work to do a password reset.
 
4. Once you're in, you can select "Create New Guide" from the LibGuides shortcut box.
5. You will need to use the option "Start Fresh" as you will not be able to link to any of your existing v.1 guides from the beta site.

What to do once you are in the beta site

To learn how v.2 LibGuides work, you need to play around with it. The best way to learn is to:

  • Create a guide. This guide will not be overwritten during the migration period. You will have the option to change its status from published to private before our Go Live date if you do not want it to be visible to the public.
  • Note - you will not be able to reuse your existing v.1 guide on the beta site. The beta site is your "sandbox." A place to learn, have fun, and experiment with v.2. Your v.1 guides will be brought over during the migration.
  • Add content to your guide.
  • Edit and update your guide.
  • Add links and check if they work.
